Investment Potential and Bias Analysis of Conan Issues (Bronze Age) #1 to 25 and 37
We begin our analysis of Conan from the Bronze Age. I ask you to read back through the different stats I have developed to determine the comics that are favored by the top comic book investors aka the Insiders vs the fans aka the Outsiders. I developed the Stat I call the Bias score. In Table 1 I list the Conan issues 1 to 25 and 37. Lime Green issues are those issues that are very biased and strongly desired by the Insiders. The only issues of this type is Conan #1 with a B Score of 162. It quickly drops to 53. That score is still positive and implies a solid issue to focus on. We have the dark green issues with a somewhat Bias are, 3, 5, 7 10, 23, and 25. These are issues to watch for a bargain. Note a lot of issues in the negative and those are to be avoided.
Table 1 B Score of the Conan Issues #1 to 25 and 37.
We move down further into the worlds of the I/O and have denoted the issues to focus on with Lime Green with Issue 25 (highest) and Dark Green (somewhat biased) issues of 5 to 8, 13, 20, and 23. These are the highlighted issues and note that #25 issue jumps up here. Issue 25 has a great cover and story but it is unclear to me the attraction over some other issues, but I will collect if I can get it at a bargain. Note Conan #1 is highly prized by the Insiders given the Top SLN DF number of 86 followed by 23 with a value of 44. So beware of those issues as well.
Table 2 the SLN, DF and %DF for Conan Issues.
Table 3 shows the Average differences at each grade between the I and O investors. Orange $ is the Issue and grade that is a positive while X is a negative at that grade. I look for Issues favored with orange $ in all grades of 9.4, 8 and 6. Those issues are stained with Lime Green. We have none of those issues. Dark green stained issues are a focus only at 9.4. Those would be 1, 5, 6 ,7 24 and 25. So that makes the investment focus easy its 9.4 or nothing. More on to other opportunities.
Table 3 ADFs for Conan Issues at 9.4, 8 and 6 grades.
I developed the Score Card as a way to look across the 3 data streams landscape. Lime green issues are green stained in 3, Dark green in 2 and yellow in 1 data stream. That is the order of your focus as well. This table shows that we have the top issues of 5, 7 23 and 25.
Table 4 Score Card for Conan Issues.
Lastly the concept of a desire scale, was developed to give the investor a sense of the interest in the collecting world. I list from top to bottom. Issue 1 is desired at the 86% level of the 1356 comics in my database. Next are 5, 3 23, 7 10 and 25. Note the graduate drop and issue 25 is still in the 70th percentile for all the comics. Its a strong showing here.
